Bury St. Edmunds
UPDATE: Since the government roadmap announcement, we have received lots of enquiries and messages regarding the reopening of Oakes Barn 🙏
We are pleased to announce that we are aiming to open our doors fully on Monday 17th May with extended hours, a broader food menu, 'food & drink events and the long-awaited opening of Elizabeth's Lounge on Friday 21st May.🍸🍹
With a heavy heart, we feel that the weather and our court yard’s size may restrict us opening on Monday, April 12th. We simply can not cater for winds and rain, but if the weather is kind, you may see us opening earlier, but with restricted hours. 🍻🍷🥂🌞☀️
The staff are desperate to return, but with 3 lockdowns behind us, we are cautious while awaiting more government guidance. We plan to open with 'no' pre-booking requirements, apart from Sunday and for Elizabeth's longe.
Stay safe until then
Love from the team at Oakes Barn 💞
Your Local Real Ale Pub
Oakes Barn opened in November 2013 as a Free House in Bury St Edmunds serving six real ales and a selection of craft beer and lager, an excellent range of wines, gins, and ciders alongside homemade food. We are community spirited and we embrace our historical links to the medieval town and James Oakes, the historian that we took our name and inspiration from. Our aim was simple, to create a hub for people to meet, socialise and make friends.
